In Germany, we use 2.8 billion disposable cups every year.
Due to pandemic-related takeout sales, this number has continued to grow and even though the cups we use at the café are biodegradable, they are often only in use for a few minutes before they end up in the trash.
That’s why we want to do our part in reducing the huge mountain of waste and introduce you to our new RECUP deposit system today:
Next time you visit us for a hot or cold drink to go, we will serve it in a RECUP and charge a €1 deposit, which you will get back once you return the cup. With the RECUP system, we will collectively save countless disposable cups and help prevent waste.
Now we need some time to make the transition happen and are very excited to soon replace all disposable cups with reusable ones!
